STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS
3 lg. green peppers
2 tbsp. water
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
3/4 c. cooked rice
1/3 c. finely chopped onion
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Cut green peppers in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Arrange in a 12 x 8 x 2 inch glass baking dish. Add water. Cover with plastic wrap. Put in microwave 5 to 8 minutes, giving dish a half turn during cooking. Drain. Combine ground beef, 1/4 cup tomato sauce, rice, onion, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper. Spoon mixture into green peppers. Pour remaining tomato sauce over meat mixture. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave 16 to 20 minutes, giving dish a 1/2 turn twice during cooking. Sprinkle cheese over meat when done. Cover and let stand 5 minutes before serving. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Tomato Gravy:

After cooking pour liquid into a 2 cup glass measuring cup. Combine 2 tablespoons all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons cold water. Stir into hot liquid. Microwave 2 to 3 minutes until thickened. Stir every minute during cooking. Pour tomato gravy over stuffed green peppers. Sprinkle with cheese and serve.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
