COFFEE CAN BREAD 
4 c. unsifted flour (white, whole wheat, or mixed)
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar (white, brown or molasses)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. ground nuts (any kind)
1/2 c. chopped raisins or dates
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 (1 lb.) coffee cans

Mix 2 cups flour with yeast. Combine water, milk, butter, sugar and salt over low heat until butter melts, cool 5 minutes. Add to flour and yeast. Add remaining ingredients. Dough will be stiff, knead until smooth and elastic.

Grease inside of each coffee can, divide dough in half, half in each can, cover with plastic lid. Let rise until dough is 1-inch from top of can. Remove cover, bake 35 minutes at 375 degrees or until top sounds hollow.
