SWEDISH NUTS 
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
2 unbeaten egg whites
Big pinch salt
4 c. unsalted pecans

Set oven at 300 degrees. Melt one stick (1/4 pound) butter on jelly roll pan, 10x15.

Mix in bowl 2 cup sugar, 2 unbeaten egg whites, big pinch salt, 4 cups unsalted pecans. Stir to coat evenly. Spread nuts over butter. Bake about 30-35 minutes, stirring nuts every 10-15 minutes. They are done when the nuts are brown, dried and separated. Store in refrigerator in airtight container.
