RED VELVET CAKE 3 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Wesson oil
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
1 bottle red food color

Mix sugar, egg and oil. Alternate mixture of flour, soda and cocoa with milk. Add vanilla, vinegar and coloring. Place in 3 (8") or 2 (9") pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 1/2 c. sugar

Combine sugar and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Spoon evenly on each baked layer (be sure to punch some holes with toothpick before spooning this mixture). Let cake cool completely in pans before removing to frost.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped

Combine all ingredients and spread over cake after it has cooled.
