CHILI BEANS 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. onion, chopped
3/4 c. green peppers, chopped
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, broken up
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (1 lb.) can pinto or kidney beans
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf

In a heavy skillet, cook meat, onion and green pepper until meat is lightly browned and vegetables are tender. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, salt, chili powder and bay leaf. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove bay leaf.
