NEVER FAIL GINGERBREAD 
1/2 c. melted shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. hot water

Combine shortening, sugar, and molasses. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with hot water, beating until smooth. Bake in greased 6 x 10 inch pan in 350 degree oven, 35 minutes (or until done). Serve warm with whipped cream.
