NEW ENGLAND BOILED DINNER | |
2 boneless pork butts, about 1 1/2 lbs. each 1 lg. cabbage 6 to 8 carrots 6 to 8 potatoes 1 lg. can green beans Dash of salt and pepper 1. Cut boneless pork butts in large pieces in a large pot. 2. Slice cabbage into quarters and put also in pot. Fill 1/2 way to cover pork and cabbage with water and boil for 35 minutes. 3. Add carrots and potatoes and cook for another 35 minutes on medium flame. 4. Then add 1 large can of green beans. Simmer about 10 minutes. Optional: Serve with a side dish of applesauce and rolls. Great one dish dinner! Serves 6. |
