MUSHROOMS IN SOUR CREAM 
1 lb. fresh mushrooms
3 tbsp. butter
1 lg. onion, minced
1/3 c. water (or dry sherry)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. white pepper
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
1 c. sour cream (8 oz. container)
Toasted bread or crackers

Wash, trim and slice mushrooms; set aside. Melt butter and saute onion until golden brown. Add mushrooms and water; simmer until tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, except for toast, and heat. Do not boil. Serve over toast as main dish or with crackers as an appetizer or snack.
