ZESTY SALAD DRESSING | |
1 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 c. cold water 1/4 c. vinegar 1/4 c. ketchup 1 tsp. prepared horseradish 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. paprika Dash of hot pepper sauce 1 clove garlic, halved In small saucepan, combine cornstarch, sugar, and dry mustard; gradually stir in water. Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat, until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat. Cover surface with waxed paper. Cool 10-15 minutes. Remove waxed paper; stir in the vinegar, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire, salt, paprika and hot pepper sauce; beat until smooth. Add garlic. Transfer to storage container; cover and chill. Remove garlic before using. 6 calories per tablespoon. Yield: 1 1/3 cups. |
