GRANDMA'S FRIED CAKES | |
2 eggs 1 c. hot mashed potatoes 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. mace 1 c. sugar 5 tbsp. melted shortening 1/4 c. sweet milk 1 tsp. nutmeg 3 tsp. baking powder 2 1/2 c. sifted flour Cream sugar and eggs; add hot mashed potatoes, milk and shortening. Sift flour, salt, nutmeg, mace and baking powder. Add sifted ingredients to creamed mixture. Place in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours. Fry in deep fat. Makes about 3 dozen. |
