OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. Quaker oatmeal

Bake at 370 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes for a chewy cookie and 10 to 11 minutes for a crisp cookie.
