FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. each: salt, soda and vanilla
2 level tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3 c. chopped fresh raw apples (Flippen's Golden Delicious)
1/2 c. chopped black walnuts

Peel apples and chop; set aside. Measure salad oil into large mixing bowl. Add sugar and eggs. Beat until creamy with low speed of mixer. Sift flour, salt, soda and baking powder; add small amount of flour mixture at a time to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. When all flour has been added, remove mixture and fold in chopped apples. Add chopped nuts. Spread in 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake in 350°F oven.
