2 2/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. molasses
1/2 c. strong coffee
1 1/2 tbsp. brandy
2 eggs, unbeaten
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. white raisins or currants
1/2 c. mixed fruit cake fruit (ground)

Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Add molasses, eggs, coffee, brandy. Sift together all dry ingredients. (Flour the raisins with a little flour before adding.) Bake in a turk's head mold or in size bread pans. Serve hot with lots of butter.
