CARBONNADES 
1 1/2 lbs. sliced 3/4 inch thick round steak
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. beer
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can of condensed onion soup
2 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour, mixed with 1/4 c. water
1/2 c. sliced carrots

Cut meat into serving size pieces, pound with meat mallet. Brown meat in shortening, pour off fat. Add beer, soup and sugar. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour. Stir flour mix in until thickened. Serve on noodles.
