DINNER ROLLS 
1 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
2 env. Fleishman's yeast
1 c. milk
6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
7 c. sifted flour
3 eggs, beaten

In 1/2 cup lukewarm water dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar, sprinkle yeast on top of water. Let stand 10 minutes, then stir well.

Scald milk, add shortening, sugars and salt, cool to lukewarm, add 2 cups flour to make a batter, add yeast mixture, remaining water and eggs, beat well. Add remaining flour or enough to make a soft dough.

Knead lightly and place in a greased bowl, cover and set in warm place, free from drafts. Let rise until double in bulk. When light, punch down and use according to directions for rolls or coffee cake.
