SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES 
4 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger
2 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. soft butter
1/2 c. hot coffee
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda (dissolved in the coffee)
1 c. dark molasses

Sift flour, add salt and spices. Beat eggs, add sugar and blend. Add molasses, shortening and coffee. Mix thoroughly. Chill at least 1 hour. Drop by tablespoon on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.
