SNOWFLAKE WAFERS | |
1/2 c. light corn syrup 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 1 c. sifted all purpose flour 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. 2. Line 2 cookie sheets with heavy foil. 3. In large saucepan, combine corn syrup, sugar, and butter. 4. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until boiling. 5. Remove from heat. Add flour and walnuts; blend. 6. Add vanilla and blend. 7. Drop on cookie sheets by teaspoonfuls, 3 inches apart. 8. Bake 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool thoroughly on foil, then peel off wafers. 9. Store in airtight container. Makes about 4 dozen wafers (a cross between cookies and candy); about 60 calories each. |
