MY MOTHER'S PEANUT BUTTER
COOKIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. smooth peanut butter
1/3 c. light brown sugar
3/4 c. dark brown corn syrup
1 egg, beaten
2 c. plain flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

With electric mixer, cream butter and peanut butter. Add sugar gradually, creaming well. Add corn syrup slowly then beaten egg. Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt together; stir into creamed mixture. Chill until able to handle; keep covered.

To bake, form into balls the size of a walnut. Place on greased baking sheet. Flatten with fork, dropped in flour to form a criss-cross pattern. Bake 10 to 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Makes 4 dozen cookies. Dough keeps well in refrigerator.
