PEANUT BUTTER CRUNCHES COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
Chocolate chips, raisins or nuts (opt.)

Cream together shortening and crunchy peanut butter. Blend in white and brown sugar. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix alternately with milk; mix well. Drop by teaspoon on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes. Makes 4 or 5 dozen.
