CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
14 oz. pkg. caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 German chocolate cake mix
4 tbsp. water
1/2 c. butter
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Melt caramels and milk over low heat or in the microwave. Set aside. Combine dry cake mix, softened butter and water. Put 1/2 to 2/3 of the batter in 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle on chocolate chips. Pour caramel mixture over chips. Drop remaining dough on top randomly. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
