CABBAGE CREAM BROTH 
2 c. finely chopped fresh cabbage
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 pt. water
1 qt. milk
1/8 tsp. pepper

Combine the cabbage, butter, salt, and water. Cook 10 minutes. Add the milk and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; simmer 15 minutes longer. Serve plain or slightly thickened with flour.
