SHERRIED PECANS | |
1 lb. shelled pecan halves 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. sherry Dash nutmeg (or to taste) Dash of salt Put pecans in shallow baking dish (jelly roll pan works great). Roast at 325 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring every 4-5 minutes with a fork. Make sure that nuts do not burn. (If your oven runs hot, reduce temperature; nuts burn easily!) Meanwhile, melt butter and combine with sugar, sherry, nutmeg (if desired), and salt. When nuts are roasted, immediately pour butter mixture over, stir well with fork to evenly coat pecans. Return to 325 degree oven and cook about 5 minutes more, stirring every 2 minutes with fork. Transfer nuts to paper toweling (using fork or slotted spoon) to cool and dry to the touch. Enjoy! |
