COLESLAW THAT KEEPS | |
3 to 4 c. shredded cabbage 1 to 2 tbsp. chopped onion 1/2 c. sugar 1/3 c. white vinegar 1/4 c. cooking oil 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. dry mustard Combine sugar, vinegar and oil, celery seed, salt, and dry mustard. Microwave (high), uncovered, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until mixture boils and sugar dissolves. Stir occasionally. Pour over cabbage; mix lightly. Cover tightly and let refrigerate overnight. Will keep up to 2 weeks. Chopped greens can be added with onion. It can be served hot immediately also and can be made ahead of Holidays. |
