BLACKBERRY CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
3 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour cream
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. blackberries
3 c. flour

ICING:

2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cold water
1/2 c. light Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites

Cream butter. Add sugar, eggs and spices. (Mix soda in flour.) Add berries and sour cream. Mix. Add flour and soda. Bake in layer pans at 350 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes.

Icing: Boil sugar and Karo until it forms a hard boil in cold water. Take from stove. Slowly add beaten egg whites. Beat until stiff.
