CHEWY BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Cool. Add the egg, flour, baking powder and salt. Stir well. Blend in vanilla and walnuts. Spread in well greased and floured 8 inch or 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into squares.
