SHIRLEY'S BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES | |
1 (16 oz.) pkg. butterscotch bits 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butterscotch bits and butter over hot (not boiling water). Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Cool 5 minutes. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in nuts, if desired. Pour into greased 9x13-inch pan and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Cut into squares while warm. Makes 24 squares. Submitted by: Shirley Hull |
