1 (16 oz.) can Bush's Best dark red kidney beans 1 (16 oz.) can Bush's Best baby butter beans 1 (31 oz.) can Van Camp pork & beans 3/4 of a lb. bacon, cut up into 1" pieces 1 lb. hamburger 3/4 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. Heinz ketchup 1/2 tsp. salt 1 heaping tsp. mustard 1 lg. onion, chopped In skillet, cook hamburger and onion until done, then drain and set aside. Now while bacon is still in package cut in 1 inch pieces. Separate each piece and put in a different skillet to cook until brown. (Use 3/4 of a pound of bacon.) Then drain and mix in with your hamburger mixture. Stir together well. Now open cans of kidney beans, butter beans and pork and beans. Drain and save the liquid for later. Now add these beans only to your hamburger and bacon mixture. Mix well. Grease a 10 x 14 inch baking pan. Now put your hamburger, bacon mixture in pan. Now mix together in bowl, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 3/4 cup of Heinz ketchup, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 heaping teaspoon mustard; mix well. Then spread this over your beans lightly. Do not stir. Now, your liquid you saved from the beans, pour this lightly over all of this. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour (uncovered). Delicious. |
