DORLEEN HILL'S ALPINE NUGGETS | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 c. shortening 2 eggs 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate 2 c. oats 1 c. walnuts, chopped Combine flour, salt and baking soda in medium sized bowl. In large bowl cream together sugar and shortening. Add vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until fluffy. Melt chocolate, add to sugar mixture and beat until smooth. Add flour mixture, alternating with milk. Blend in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until firm. FROSTING: 1 sq. chocolate 2 tbsp. boiling water 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. butter Melt chocolate and butter in small mixing bowl. Blend in sugar and water. Beat until smooth. Frost cookies. |
