3 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. Karo
1 stick butter
2 to 2 1/2 c. raw peanuts
Red food coloring

Cook sugar, water and syrup until soft ball stage. Add peanuts, coloring and cook until hard-boil stage. Remove from heat, add butter, dash of salt and beat mixture until it looses it glossy color. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Pour into 12x12 inch pan or spoon onto waxed paper into patties.
