INEXPENSIVE SOFT FROSTING 
1 c. confectioners' sugar (do not sift before measuring)
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
5 tbsp. cold water
White of one egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, cream of tartar and water together and cook until the mixture just comes to a boil. Remove from heat and set aside. Place white of one egg in bowl, turn beater on high and add hot mixture gradually into egg white. Beat about 3 to 5 minutes. Add one tsp. vanilla or any flavor desired. Frosting will not harden but forms a glossy coat.
