SPONGE CAKE 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
7 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

7 unbeaten egg yolks
1/2 c. oil
3/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together the first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Make a well and add in order next 4 ingredients and beat until smooth. Take largest bowl and beat egg whites and cream of tartar until egg whites are stiff.

Add egg mixture to egg whites with an open spoon or masher. Do not beat just blend.

Pour in an ungreased tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes to 1 hour.
