BANANA BREAD
1 1/2 c. sugar (3/4 c. white & 3/4 c. brown)
2 lg. eggs
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. Spry
1/4 c. sour milk
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 crushed bananas, old bananas

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; mix well. Then add vanilla, baking powder and salt; mix well. Put 3/4 teaspoon baking soda in sour milk. It will bubble up. Mix sour milk mixture and the flour alternately. Add mashed bananas last and mix well. I mash the bananas with a fork. Also, to sour the milk, I put in 1 tablespoon vinegar to curdle the milk. Put into bread loaf pan and bake approximately 60 minutes at 350 degrees in regular oven.

Can add walnuts if you wish. Test for doneness with a toothpick, if comes out doughy, then bake a little longer. I do grease and flour my pan before I put the dough into the pan. Then when it is done baking, I let cool for 10 minutes. Then you can take it out of the pan and it should come out easily.
