1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 c. soft bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. ketchup
2 tsp. salt
3 c. hot mashed potatoes
1 c. shredded American cheese

Combine 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, 1 cup soft bread crumbs, 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/3 cup Heinz ketchup, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Pat meat into an 8-inch square baking dish. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven; drain excess fat.

Combine 3 cups hot mashed potatoes and 3/4 cup shredded American cheese and spread over meat. Top with 1/4 cup shredded American cheese. Bake for 20 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
