1 med. size cabbage 4 med. onions 1 lb. hamburger 1 tbsp. pepper 2 tbsp. salt Dough 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 2 c. milk 5 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 6 tbsp. melted shortening 7 to 8 c. flour Combine cabbage, onions, hamburger, and seasoning in fry pan. Cook over low heat, stirring often for 20 minutes. Let cool. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Scald milk; add sugar, salt, and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast to milk mixture. Add 1/2 of flour and beat until smooth. Mix in enough flour to make a light dough. Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double; punch down. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 5 or 6 inch squares. Place 1 large tablespoon of meat mixture in center of square. Bring corners together and pinch seams closed. Place, seam side down, on a greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes until brown. May be frozen before baked. |
