BROILED OYSTERS 
12 oysters, alive and in the shell
6 slices bacon
1/4 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Scrub oysters to remove all mud; open, keeping each oyster in the deep half and shell.

Fry bacon until almost crisp; drain.

Top each opened oyster with 1/2 slice bacon and cheddar cheese to completely cover the oyster.

Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Makes 4 appetizer servings.
