PEAR NUT BREAD 
2-3 ripe pears
1/2 c. salad oil
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. sour cream
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Peel and core pears, chop to get 1 cup. In large bowl, beat together oil and sugar until well blended. Beat in eggs, one at a time, sour cream and vanilla.

Sift together dry ingredients. Add to wet mixture; blend well. Add pears and nuts.

Put batter in greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Turn onto rack to finish cooling. Makes 1 large or 2 medium loaves.
