PEAR PECAN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/2 c. sour cream
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. coarsely chopped pears, fresh or canned
1 1/4 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. lemon zest

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9 x 4 inch loaf pans. Combine sugar and oil in large bowl of mixer and beat well. Add eggs one at a time and heat well after each addition. Mix in sour cream and vanilla. Sift together baking soda, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Beat into mixture. Stir in pears, pecans, and lemon. Spoon batter into pans. Bake 1 hour or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10-15 minutes. Turn onto rack and cool.
