ELTA'S PEAR BREAD 
1/2 c. butter or oil
OR 1/4 c. butter and 1/4 c. non-fat yogurt
1/3 - 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. buttermilk or yogurt
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Chopped nuts, optional
1 c. chopped pears

1. Cream butter, yogurt, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

2. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.

3. Stir in pears and nuts.

4. Bake in greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 1 loaf.
