CANADIAN NO BAKE COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
3 c. rolled oats
1 c. coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt

Combine sugar, shortening, and milk; boil for 1 minute. Add oats, coconut, vanilla, and salt to first mixture while still hot. Roll into 2 inch balls.
