HOT SPICED FRUIT | |
1 (16 oz.) can each peach halves, pineapples chunks and pitted light sweet cherries 1 (16 oz.) each pear halves and apricot halves 2 apples 3 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 tsp. each nutmeg and cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/4 c. butter 3 bananas 2 c. seedless raisins Drain and combine syrup from canned fruit. Reserve 1 1/2 c. of the combined syrup. Core and dice apple. Mix with lemon juice. Turn all into a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Stir together reserved fruit syrup, spices and brown sugar. Pour over fruit. Dot with butter. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Peel bananas and cut into chunks. Lightly stir grapes and bananas into baked fruit. Cover, bake for 5 minutes more. Serve warm with sour cream if desired. 12 servings. |
