CANDY CARNIVAL CAKE 
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. orange extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl. Add 3/4 cup shortening, 1/2 cup milk, extracts and 1 egg and beat 2 minutes. Then add remaining milk and 2 eggs and beat 2 more minutes. Bake in two 9-inch pans at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 c. Crisco
4 tbsp. flour
4 tbsp. milk
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar

Beat on high speed for 4 minutes. Add 2 egg whites. beat 4 minutes.
