1 3/4 c. flour 1/4 lb. butter 2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar 8 to 10 lg. apples (McIntosh) 2 eggs Melt butter, add sugar gradually and beat well. Add eggs; mix thoroughly. Add flour combined with baking powder and beat well. Spread on bottom of greased spring pan. Pare apples and cut in slices 3/8 inch thick; stand them up on end. (It will look like a flower of apples). Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. PART TWO: 1/4 lb. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Pour over baked torte and bake 15 minutes turning oven low at 325 degrees. |
