MINT SWIRL BROWNIES 
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. chopped nuts
1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate, melted & cooled
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
Several drops green food coloring

Cream together cream cheese, butter and sugar; beat in eggs. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; stir in creamed mixture. Spoon half of the batter into another bowl; stir in nuts and chocolate. Drop chocolate batter from tablespoon checkerboard fashion into greased 9"x9"x2" baking pan. To remaining batter, stir in extract and food coloring. Spoon green batter into open spaces in baking pan. Swirl with spatula to marble; do not overmix. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool; pour chocolate glaze over top. Cut into bars. Makes 24.

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. boiling water

Melt chocolate and butter over low heat; stir constantly. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until crumbly. Blend in enough water until of pouring consistency.
