CHOCOLATE THUMBPRINTS | |
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1 egg, separated 1 c. walnuts, chopped In small saucepan, melt 1/4 cup chips. In small bowl measure flour, butter, sugar, vanilla, salt, egg yolk and melted chocolate chips. Beat until blended at low speed, increase to medium and mix for 1 minute. Shape into 3/4 inch balls. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg white until foamy. Dip cookie balls in egg white and then in chopped nuts. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Press thumb into center. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and fill indentations with reserve chocolate chips, smoothing with back of spoon. |
