GINGERSNAP COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
3/4 butter or shortening
1/3 c. molasses
1 egg

Mix the above with mixer. Mix or sift following and add:

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt, optional

Mix well and form into balls. Roll in sugar. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
