OVEN BREAKFAST | |
1 1/2 lb. sausage (lean) 3/4 c. chopped onion 3/4 c. chopped mushrooms 1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese 3/4 tsp. dry mustard 1 c. cream of mushroom soup, diluted with 1/2 c. milk 8 slices bread, cubed 2 1/4 c. milk 4 eggs, beaten 1/4 c. chopped chives 1/2 c. grated cheese 9x13 inch pan sprayed with Pam Brown sausage; drain fat. Saute onion and mushrooms until limp, not brown and drain. Combine ingredients, layer bread, layer sausage, onion and mushroom mixture. Also sprinkle grated cheese on each layer. Pour egg and milk mixture over all. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Then spread the 1/2 cup grated cheese on top and return to oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle chives on top. For a special dish, add pepperoni, cut tomatoes and green chilies. |
