PINTO BEEF CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green peppers
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
3 c. cooked rice (hot)
1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans, drained
3/4 c. shredded cheese
1/4 c. shredded cheese

Cook meat until brown. Drain off excess fat. Add and cook until tender onion, green pepper and garlic. Blend in tomato sauce, chili powder and salt and cook for a few minutes.

In greased 2 quart baking dish arrange in layers beginning with meat sauce, rice, beans and cheese. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until thoroughly hot. Makes 6 servings.
