PIE CRUST 
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. sugar
1 3/4 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. water

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture is coarse. Combine egg, vinegar and water; gradually add to flour mixture, stirring until mixture becomes a ball. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll dough out on a floured surface. cut into circles and pack in plastic freezer bags or place in pie plates. Yields about 4 pie crusts.
