PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS | |
1 pkg. yellow cake mix 1/2 c. butter 1 egg 1 c. chopped pecans FILLING: 2/3 c. reserved cake mix 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup 1 tsp. vanilla 3 eggs Grease bottom and sides of 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling in large bowl. Combine remaining cake mix, butter and egg. Mix until crumbly, press in greased baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Prepare filling. Mix reserved cake mix, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and eggs. Mix well. Pour over partially baked crust sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until filling is set. Cut into bars when cool. Makes 36 bars. |
