PRALINE PUMPKIN PIE 
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
1/2 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. whipping cream
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 (9-inch) deep dish pie crust

TOPPING:

1/2 c. pecan halves
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Combine filling ingredients, mixing until smooth. Pour into pie shell. Spoon combined topping ingredients evenly over pumpkin mixture. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely and top with whipped cream if desired.
